Organised by NEM Marketing Consult, this year’s event themed, “Empowering and motivating tomorrow’s showbiz leaders” is expected to highlight the progress of music and acts from the region and the way forward on building a vibrant industry in the region.
In all, there are 26 awards in various categories including Best Hiphop Artiste, Best Highlife Artiste, Best Gospel Artiste and the ultimate award of Western Showbiz Icon of the Year award up for grabs.
Artistes vying for the Western Showbiz Icon of the Year award include Things Fall Apart” hit-maker, Kofi Kinaata, Fameye, Falonzy, Ayesem and Too Much.

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, Event Coordinator for the awards scheme, Martin Cibz Pipigee Henryson said "we are ready for a successful event. We have done all the needed arrangements to ensure patrons and the Western showbiz fraternity and its players would have value for their time, money and support”.
According to him, this year's the second edition and is expected to promote, empower, motivate, recognise and discover young and new talents in the region.
Also, acts from the region who are excelling on the national stage and beyond are expected to be appreciated on the night.
The night which starts with a red carpet segment at 5.30pm will see performances from artistes such as Qwesi Flex, Kojo Jahwill, Kebra, Paddy Force, AK Difaya, Dwoodwo Mojo, Shola among others.
