Okito Sisi |
His management blamed him for the loss nearly derailing a promising career. However, OKito Sisi is moving on from that experience and is out with new material titled Wani Awu.
The artiste told Graphic Showbiz in an interview that the song, produced by Kin Dee, is targeted at his enemies who seek his downfall.
“The song talks about my struggles from 2015 when I started music. Many things worked against me but here I am in 2020 to shame every enemy who is trying to pull me down with Wani Awu,” he said.
Explaining the challenges he has faced, Okito said, “My challenge is limited financial resources. All the people I approach with my works are not ready to invest in me even though they tell me I’m good. I think we don’t appreciate good talents in Ghana and unfortunately, this has been my story,” he said.
Born Isaac Opare Okito, Okito Sisi was born in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana. His love for music blossomed when he joined the choir in secondary school.
Okito, who has other songs such as Jeje and Danase is currently pursuing a degree at the Ghana Institute of Journalism while doing music and also working full time as a customer service official at Vodafone Ghana.
“Music is my passion so I need to dedicate some time for it and though it’s not been easy, I’m not giving up even though my parents were not too supportive of me initially.
“I always hid from them anytime I went to the studio till my mum heard one of my songs. She fell in love with it and I can say she is my biggest fan now. Though my dad is still not sure of his support for me, I know I will win him over soon,” he said.
