On the song, Armstick sings about how women are being taken for granted because we have abandoned our culture and couples are settling down without the consent and involvement of their families.
“In our culture, when a man falls in love with a lady, the right thing to do is to meet her family to perform the needed rites but that is not the case in this era.
“People settle down without respect to our culture and that is why I’m using this song to let people know that as Africans, we have our values and traditions which must be highly regarded.
“During the days of our fathers, marriages lasted for a very long time as compared to these days because we settle for people without even knowing their backgrounds. We must change the narrative,” he stated.
Produced by B2, Amaka was mixed by Karis and Armstick said he is focused on using the song to change the storyline of young people sleeping around in the name of love.
Though he is a Graphic designer by profession, Armstick is very passionate about music and he told Graphic Showbiz that lack of finances had been a great limitation to his progress.
He says he was venturing into other businesses so he can make enough capital to support his music career.
He made a passionate appeal to record labels to support his career adding, “It’s difficult doing all this by myself so I would more than appreciate it having some support,” he said.
Born Michael Yakubu, Armstick discovered his talent during his primary school days and released his first song in 2011. He has since released other materials such as Adonko, Over You, Corona Virus, Indomie Girls among others.
