The movie tells the story of Asaba, a small kingdom whose successor to the throne, Dede Aku is kidnapped by their enemies.
The devastating situation compels the royal household and the community’s leadership to consult an oracle. Their pleas to their ancestors is heard as they rescue the baby in an eggshell and she is found by a popular hunter in the community who takes him to the palace.
Dede Aku grows into a powerful ruler who leads his people to win wars and becomes a terror to their enemies.
In a chat with the Daily Graphic on Thursday, September 5, Steward Stevens, the CEO of the Royal Citadel said it was an epic that sought to educate the public on the Asaba Kingdom, a small village which existed before the arrival of colonisers.
“This series seeks to inform, educate and entertain Ghanaians and those in the diaspora to undertake social responsibilities and also advance the truth about royalty in Ghana,” he stated.
Kosua Ba's first showing will be at 6 p.m. and Steward Stevens noted that after the premiere, the movie will be shown on UTV in the first week of December 2019.
The Royal Citadel Multimedia was established in 2009 and according to Steward Stevens, they are inspired to use films to push for national development.
