Queen Haizel on the move with Yetwem

SUCCESS doesn’t come on a silver platter and that is why even after grabbing five nominations and winning Best female Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 Central Music Awards, singer, Queen Haizel is not resting on her oars.

Although she has been involved in a number of controversies, including showing off her naked backside at Obrafour’s Back To Taifa concert in October and her feud with Sista Afia, the Bravo singer intends to promote herself as a serious artiste with her newest material titled Yetwem.

Yetwem, which literally translates as “We cancel it” in English features young rapper, Wagez from Cape Coast.

The song, engineered by Takoradi-based producer, Body Beatz, portrays the ways people can overcome bad energy and stay positive.

“I was inspired to release this to encourage positive vibes in the society especially among the youth. There are so many backbiters, slanderers and haters parading themselves as friends and always working to bring others down.

Yetwem is to tell such haters that their evil deeds have been found out and we cancel their negative schemes with our positivity,” she stated.

From afar, all may seem good for her but Queen Haizel told the Graphic Showbiz it had not been an easy ride for her since she is financing her own projects.

“I have some people in my team helping out but I would appreciate it more if I got a professional hand. I’m not doing badly for myself but I know things will be much better with a good record label,” she said.

Queen Haizel, whose real name is Mercedes Haizel Cobbina hails from Cape Coast in the Central Region and presently boasts of songs such as Bravo, Lover Boy, 1000 Times, Shormi, Ekye featuring Shaker and Barricade featuring Salvation among others.

She announced her presence on the big stage with Bravo and has gone on to win some awards including Best Songwriter of the Year at the 2019 Emerging Music Awards.
